Should Employee
really have to retire at the age of 65?
Should Life Be Over Even Before it is Over?
Does an employee's "life" have to end at age 65, right after officially (or forcefully) being made to retire?
Given the choice, would you choose to retire at an earlier age, say 30? Or would you go for that magic number of 65?
Retirement = Age? NOT!
After working for 15 years for the same company, I announced at my birthday party that I am
retiring effective tomorrow. My guests were shocked because I'm nowhere near 65!
Retirement should not be about age, but about money.
Back when I was an Employee, the years I spent with the company equates the years I was being paid for my time, effort, energy, skills and competencies. I was being paid, yes, but my income is never enough to catch up with the inflation rate.
For 15 years I had to find a way to fund the shortfall. I searched and searched for a way to better my circumstance, but I found that the only way was to be an employer myself. Of course I was frightened of the risks. I was terrified of the consequences if I failed.
But after careful introspection and thorough research, I made the jump. I made the announcement that I am retiring.
Coming out of My Comfort Zone
Change is never easy. We always fear what is unknown. If you spent much of your life as an Employee then, like me, you don't have much saved up. You say to yourself that you cannot afford to lose your steady income. So why not start with something low cost and can be done during your spare time?
Starting a Home Business
It is all about you starting and building a small business online. SBI! includes clear step-by-step video instruction and all the tools needed...
Contrary to popular belief, not all home businesses involve selling products. What needs to be done though is provide relevant and up to date information. People who venture into this type of home business are called "Infopreneurs".
What Exactly is an Infopreneur?
Infoprenuers develop websites and fill it up with topics they know a lot about and are truly passionate for. In my website I even have correspondences and even links to advertisements.
Infopreneur-ing is the newest thing on the web, and the fastest growing too, because it gives benefits to both the infopreneur and the site visitor. If you want to know more I just you read on or better yet subscribe to my e-zine.
Downside of this business
Like any other business, there is also a downside to Infopreneurship. For one, you passively have to wait for visitors. In some countries the conversion rate is low. Hence, you need tremendous amount of traffic to flourish. Moreover, this is definitely not a get-rich-quick scheme. You have to be patient in building a relationship with your visitors. It could take money months before you can see substantial numbers.
Thinking out of the Box
Going into any business is entirely different from being employed. But the rewards brought about by your sacrifice and effort is sure to come if you don't quit too soon.
The beauty of having your own online business is that you can have several up and running at the same time where you can derive extra income for your family's needs or save-up for that dream vacation.
