When you are a student it is a known fact that you don't have your own money yet. As a student you still don't have a free rein on your resources. At most, you are given an allowance or pocket money or spending money by your loving parents.

Getting extra cash for other stuff or fun activities like shopping for a trendy new wardrobe, some shoes or buying the latest electronic gadget would be a luxury, or an almost impossibility if you choose to rely on or just beg your parents for it.

After all financial discipline is best taught by imposing a tight budget, as any parent would say.
